Cheri Hauer, Esq. is the founder of Hauer Law Office, PLLC, where she focuses her practice on common-interest community law and real estate development. With over 20 years of experience, Ms. Hauer has provided trusted legal counsel to community associations in Nevada and California, helping clients navigate complex legal landscapes with practical, strategic guidance.
Before establishing her own firm, Ms. Hauer was a partner at Leach Kern Gruchow Song, where she spent twelve years as both an associate and partner, building a reputation for excellence in common-interest community representation. Her background also includes serving as Assistant General Counsel for a prominent homebuilder in Northern Nevada and Northern California, and representing title companies in complex title insurance disputes.
Ms. Hauer is a recognized leader in the community association industry. She is an active member of the Community Associations Institute (CAI), where she served on the Nevada Chapter’s Board of Directors from 2018 to 2022, including as President in 2021. She currently serves on CAI’s Nevada Legislative Action Committee and is a member of the prestigious College of Community Association Lawyers (CCAL), a distinction held by just over 195 attorneys nationwide and only five in Nevada.
Committed to education and mentorship in her field, Ms. Hauer regularly authors and teaches continuing education courses for community managers through the Nevada Real Estate Division. She also teaches pre-licensing classes for community managers at UNLV and presents frequently for CAI and CAMEO. In 2018, she co-presented the seminar New Developments in HOA Law at the State Bar of Nevada Annual Meeting.
Ms. Hauer earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Davis in 1997 and her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 2002. She is licensed to practice law in Nevada, California, and Minnesota.
